Pulicat, Tamil Nadu
The National Workshop on Sea Turtle Nesting Phenology and Conservation, organized by the Research and Education for Environmental Foundation (REEF), was successfully conducted at Pulicat, Tamil Nadu. The workshop aimed to bring together scientists, conservationists, students, and NGOs to exchange knowledge and discuss strategies for sea turtle conservation and marine biodiversity protection.
This two-day event featured:

✅ A boating trip and field visit to nesting sites
✅ A turtle walk for hands-on conservation experience
✅ Community engagement activities
The workshop strengthened participants' understanding of turtle nesting behaviors, climate change impacts, and conservation techniques, reinforcing their commitment to environmental sustainability.
A total of 32 participants attended the workshop, representing universities, colleges, NGOs, and research institutions from across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

The workshop commenced with the Lighting of the Lamp by Founder of REEF Mr.M.Sivanesan and followed by Secretary Mr.D.Jegastar, symbolizing the spread of knowledge.

🌊 Following the visit, the group proceeded to Pulicat Beach to observe sea turtle nesting activity. Highlights included:

✅ Understanding the role of estuarine ecosystems in conservation
🔥 Networking Dinner & Campfire – Facilitated conservation discussions
🐢 Turtle Walk (10:00 PM - 4:00 AM) included:
