The Centre for Eco-Livelihoods & Sustainable Tourism (CELST), an initiative of the Research and Education for Environmental Foundation (REEF), offers a Fun-Filled Eco Tourism Program at Pulicat designed as a one-day educational trip for school students. This program introduces students to the rich biodiversity and ecological importance of Pulicat Lake, one of the largest brackish water lagoons in India. Through guided activities, students gain awareness of wetlands, migratory birds, coastal ecosystems, and sustainable tourism practices while enjoying an engaging outdoor learning experience. The program includes a variety of interactive and experiential activities such as bird watching, nature science walks, ice-breaker games, treasure hunts, beach fun, eco quizzes, and village visits. These activities encourage environmental awareness, teamwork, and curiosity about nature while making learning enjoyable. The eco-tourism trip is priced at ₹500 per student (including food) and aims to promote environmental education and sustainable tourism among young learners. Schools and educational institutions can register students for this program through CELST and REEF to provide them with a meaningful nature-based learning experience at Pulicat.
